Opera is an underutilized art form capable of large-scale storytelling that reflects sociocultural anxieties and issues. Incorporating contemporary music and non-Western instruments, working with practitioners, and studying traditional vocal techniques, I will explore how contemporary opera can become more accessible, inclusive, and relevant.
