Interventions in Youth Incarceration
New Zealand, Australia, The Netherlands, Norway
Rehabilitation isn’t always the right word to describe the needs of incarcerated youth. The term assumes that there is a state of being to go back to. During the Watson year I will explore how communities around the world navigate their carceral systems and help imprisoned youth populations. Engaging with activists, non-profits, and government programs that provide prevention, intervention, and re-entry programs I hope to understand the international systems that create productive outcomes for young people.
