The Cultural Context of Wildlife Conservation
Greenland, United Kingdom, Japan, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Tanzania
Species extinction has increased the urgency of wildlife conservation. Although science is essential for protecting animals, the connections that people form with species will provide the greatest push to conserve. For my Watson year, I will pick one species in each country and explore the factors that determine its conservation status. In doing so, I hope to understand the forces that threaten wildlife globally and how people are motivated to protect it.
