Understanding Suicidality Across Cultures
Netherlands, New Zealand, Argentina, Indonesia, Nepal
The stigma of mental illness is engrained within our national mental health care system. Until we begin to interrogate the very things that diagnose, treat, and medicalize mental illness, the stigma toward it will remain. By exploring different cultures' attitudes and methodologies concerning mental health care, I hope to find ways to improve and combat the stigma toward mental illness and suicidality in the United States.
