Climate Change Adaptation in Indigenous Mountain Communities
Tajikistan, Nepal, India, China, Lesotho, Peru
Mountain environments are both densely populated and incredibly fragile, leaving their indigenous communities particularly susceptible to climate change. I will investigate how these communities adapt, and how their adaptations alter their cultural landscape and food production. I will listen to and learn from community members, government officials, and local conservationists to understand the complex interdependence between food, society, and tradition.
